Here's how we can help
FirstOntario offers six education awards valued at $1,000 each to those who exemplify leadership qualities, community engagement and the drive to make our communities better.

Here's what you need to know
Open to first or second year post-secondary students aged 25 or younger
You need a 70% average or higher (we’ll need your Grade 12 transcript)
Tell us about your community volunteerism and experience that highlights co-operative philosophies of caring, co-operation and community
Show us your leadership qualities that contribute to your community today and how you will use your education to make a difference tomorrow
Application submissions
Applications for the 2021 Education Awards are now being accepted until Friday, May 7. You do not have to be a Member of FirstOntario Credit Union to apply. If you are a successful recipient, you agree to visit a FirstOntario branch in person to become a Member in order to receive your award.

Other Opportunities
Valeyo Learning Grant
The Learning Grant program provides up to 12 grants in the amount of $1,000 each to eligible students for full-time study at a qualifying Canadian college or university in 2021. The program runs between February 15 - April 18 and is open to any student who is a member of a participating credit union.
CU Succeed Youth Bursary
The CU Succeed Youth Bursary was established in 2016 by the Ontario Credit Union Foundation. The Foundation provides funding for the CU Succeed Youth Bursary program open to resident Ontario post-secondary students in need of financial assistance for academic, technological, or vocational training. Applications will open April 30 and close June 30 at 11:59 p.m.
