National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

FirstOntario Credit Union branches to close September 30 to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

    Hamilton ON, August 30, 2021

FirstOntario Credit Union and Creative Arts Financial branches will be closed on Thursday, September 30 in observance of the new federal holiday, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day provides a meaningful way for Canadians to reflect and is an important component of the reconciliation process.

FirstOntario believes it is important to give our employees the opportunity to recognize and remember the history and the lasting effects of Canada’s residential schools and to honour Indigenous survivors, their families and their communities. The FirstOntario community stands together in support, to learn and recognize the truth of our country’s past and to strive to do better.

FirstOntario’s Member Service Centre and Personal Assisted Teller services will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. should our members need assistance and online and mobile banking will also be available. We will return to regular business hours on Friday, October 1.
