Help support Niagara flood recovery

FirstOntario Credit Union stands with our communities. As a committed community partner, we know how important it is to support recovery, build resilience and help people move forward together.

In response to significant flooding across parts of the Niagara Region, FirstOntario gave a $10,000 donation to Day of Giving Niagara to help support residents, families and communities affected by the emergency.

Money raised through this initiative goes to Feed Niagara and will be used to purchase food and essential cleaning and disinfecting products that will be assembled into care packages.

This donation is kicking off our broader flood relief campaign, where we’ll give an additional $25,000 to local organizations that are dedicated to helping our Niagara neighbours.

We are also encouraging contributions to support recovery efforts. You can visit any FirstOntario branch to donate, or you can send an e-Transfer to CommunityImpact@FirstOntario.com. The goal is to direct more financial support to localized recovery efforts within the Niagara Region.

We regret that tax receipts will not be issued for these contributions.

Alternatively, you can contribute directly to Feed Niagara. Make a donation here.

Practical recovery steps

  • Contact your insurance provider to start a claim and confirm coverage.
  • Keep receipts for cleanup, repairs, temporary accommodations, and related expenses.
  • Check whether provincial disaster assistance programs are available for eligible costs not covered by insurance.
  • Contact your FirstOntario branch if you need help reviewing your financial options.
