Food4Kids Niagara Pack Night

Wednesday, January 14

Supporting food insecurity is important to FirstOntario. Food4Kids ensures children with limited or no access to food receive a package of food for the weekend. FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers are helping assemble the packages so they can be delivered on Friday.

Out of the Cold Dinner

Knox Presbyterian Church St. Catharines

The Out of the Cold Program supports the unhoused and hungry of St. Catharines and provides a hot, nourishing meal and overnight shelter to the less fortunate. FirstOntario is providing the hot dinner and Blue Wave employee volunteers to help portion the meal.

Niagara College Rise & Shine Breakfast

FirstOntario was pleased to be part of Niagara College's Nourishing Minds initiative that supports student food insecurity. Blue Wave employee volunteers were on hand at the Welland campus to serve up the free Rise & Shine breakfast for students.

Food4Kids Hamilton Breakfast Gala

The annual gala raises vital funds to help reach more children facing the reality of food insecurity. The event provided community, connection and compassion and ensures no child in the community has to go hungry.

Gore Park Community Outreach

The Gore Park Community Outreach makes a difference in Downtown Hamilton by serving nearly 1,000 guests weekly at Hamilton City Hall. They provide food, drinks, and a sense of community to seniors, families, refugees, and those experiencing homelessness. FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers were lending a hand.

Seaway Mall Gift Wrapping

FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers got into the spirit by helping with holiday gift wrapping. Gift wrapping will be available throughout the month in front of Santa's Workshop and all proceeds will support Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation.

Fortinos Turkey Drive in support of Neighbour to Neighbour

Neighbour to Neighbour Centre’s food bank will provide free groceries, including a turkey, to over 1,700 families this holiday. The Turkey Drive took place at select Fortinos stores and FirstOntario’s Blue Wave employee volunteers were on hand to help with the promotion.
