Halton Food for Thought FEEDUARY

Throughout February
Halton Region

From February 3–28 Halton Food for Thought will be holding its seventh annual FEEDUARY campaign to shine a light on the importance of Student Nutrition Programs across Halton region. Volunteers from the community will visit 13 Halton schools and see firsthand the important role these programs play in a student’s day. FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers will be participating at two schools during the month.

Soupfest

FirstOntario is proud to support the 24th annual Soupfest that raises funds for Living Rock Youth Centre, helping vulnerable youth since 1985. FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers will also be on hand to help with the event.

Food4Kids Niagara Pack Night

Supporting food insecurity is important to FirstOntario. Food4Kids ensures children with limited or no access to food receive a package of food for the weekend. FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers are helping assemble the packages so they can be delivered on Friday.

21st Annual Empty Bowls benefitting Bethlehem Housing and Support Services

Holiday Inn & Suites Parkway Conference Centre, St. Catharines

FirstOntario is proud to sponsor this annual fundraising event where guests enjoy gourmet soup prepared by Niagara chefs and served in one-of-a-kind bowls. Guests take home the empty bowl as a continuous reminder of those who struggle to meet basic living needs in our very own community. FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers will also be on hand to help with the event.

Out of the Cold Dinner

The Out of the Cold Program supports the unhoused and hungry of St. Catharines and provides a hot, nourishing meal and overnight shelter to the less fortunate. FirstOntario provided the hot dinner and Blue Wave employee volunteers to help portion the meal.

Gore Park Community Outreach

The Gore Park Community Outreach makes a difference in Downtown Hamilton by serving nearly 1,000 guests weekly at Hamilton City Hall. They provide food, drinks, and a sense of community to seniors, families, refugees, and those experiencing homelessness. FirstOntario's Blue Wave employee volunteers were lending a hand.
